Below are a few tips to ensure you get the most out of your day:
1️⃣ Pick a venue with lots of options for indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Even if you have your heart set on an outdoor ceremony ensure there are reception rooms big enough to allow for a change of plan if the weather is not on your side.
2️⃣ Ensure the venue has rooms with good lighting and a blank canvas to create a theme/atmosphere that represents you as a couple and that will photograph well.
3️⃣Choose a venue that has grounds that look stunning in your chosen season, consider backdrops for photos or outdoor ceremony locations. Private gardens, mature woodland, lakes, and fields are all available at Tullyveery.
4️⃣Visit the venue in the season you wish to marry in to get a better idea of what flowers are in bloom for photos and to understand if it will help lower floral costs or the need for backdrops/installations etc. Or ask the venue if they can show you some photos of the gardens from close to your preferred date. Remember of course that nature has a will of its own and what was in flower one year may flower a few weeks later the following year!
5️⃣Choose a venue that is easy to get to for your guests with parking facilities so it is less stressful for them.

Accommodation is hugely important to guests and for family perhaps not from the area. We have listed a few recommendations at the link above but we would be happy to discuss other options during a viewing. We are not a hotel wedding venue and so do not have guest accommodation on-site but with the great local accommodation options and our ability to have coaches at Tullyveery, our couples and their guests never have an issue with finding a good solution to their accommodation needs.
6️⃣Select drinks and food that reflect the season to add extra cheer and warmth (in those colder months).
We love seeing the mix of sit down meals, buffet style BBQ’s, salad and dessert bars, as well as food vans and street style food at weddings hosted at Tullyveery.
It is your day and food plays a huge role to keep your guests happy and to ensure timings run smoothly. We enjoy seeing our couples create a day and a menu suited to them which is the joy of choosing your own suppliers and not being tied down to any one vendor.
7️⃣In the darker months make the most of the darkness by adding sparklers and little touches such as blankets, s’mores and a firepit to ensure your guests are comfortable.
The fire pit and festoon lights are included at Tullyveery as standard. We do not like to have any hidden costs for extras here.
8️⃣Hire a band to boost the evening atmosphere and get everyone dancing.
Live music, be it during your service, drinks reception or for your evening dancing, can really help to create atmosphere.
DJ’s are super too – we have had some brilliant DJ’s, saxophonists and acts performing over the years and are happy to share suppliers we have found work well here at Tullyveery.
We have also had magicians, pianists and caricature artists as well as photo prop stations and selfie mirrors. We love to see new talent and ideas; it is your day and at Tullyveery you customise it how you wish!
9️⃣In busier months forward plan and use save the dates to ensure the people you want to be there are available.
🔟 Having a ceremony early in the afternoon allows you to capture daylight and sunsets in your photos.
*️⃣Bonus extra: Make use of your suppliers. Ask them for their advice and suggestions – they have lots of experience that you can call on which will make your planning easier and your day even more enjoyable.
